Busy but..........

I will be busy until the end of this year actually but I will try my best to make the Wordless Wednesday as usual since so many people were looking for it, especially to Curio, I know you are waiting for it. So sorry from the bottom of my heart everyone and thank you for still visiting and commenting on my blog.

My office will get  a new boss soon, and we were expecting some changing on our work. So got to finish everything before the end of this year. *Sigh* This will not happen if the person before me know how to do his work, now I am the one who have to do his 'untouch' work. How I wish his salary goes to my account for this month, hahahaha
Been thinking what will happen if I go on blogging yet did not have time to reply and commenting back on your blog. So I decided to stop blogging for a while without any warning, leaving all of you wondering where have I been. Anyway I will try my best to update my blog, and hopefully I can finish my work as soon as possible. Wish me luck everyone (^.^).

DLS: Simple Dusun Talk-episode 1

Happy Saturday everyone. Its time for my Dusun Language Saturday (DLS) again. Every week on Saturday, I will share one situation and translate them to Dusun language. Today theme will be Simple Dusun Talk (Episode 1). When you come to Kota Marudu, you can try to talk Dusun with the help of this DLS. This DLS is for Kota Marudu area only. I am not sure if this can be used at other district in Sabah. Why do I am sharing my ethnic language? I am not very good in my language because we don't speak any Dusun at home. Most of the time, we speak Malay. Sharing my language, hopefully will help me improve my Dusun vocabulary.

Dusun Language Saturday (DLS): Learn Dusun Language.
Simple Dusun Talk when you come to Kota Marudu

English: How much?
Malay: Berapa ni?
Dusun: Pi ro ga tang?

English: What is this?
Malay: Apa barang ni?
Dusun: Nu nu ti?

English: I want one kilo.
Malay: Saya mahu satu kilo.
Dusun: O nuai oku sokilo.

What to say if you want to test the fruits before buying.
English: Can I try this?
Malay: Boleh saya cuba ini?
Dusun: Obuli taraiyon ti?

English: No free gift aunty? I buy so much from you.
Malay: Tiada free ka makcik? Saya beli banyak ni.
Dusun: Aiso piri ti Inan? Ogumu bolian ku ti.

English: Thank you.
Malay: Terima kasih.
Dusun: Konsikow.

English: Welcome.
Malay: Sama-sama.
Dusun: miagal, nopo.

English: Can you put double plastic, fear it will torn later.
Malay:Boleh kasi double plastik, takut koyak.
Dusun: Ma ai padabolan lo polositik ka, modosi oku noruhak@obubus.

English: Old woman (aunty).
Malay: Makcik.
Dusun: Inan.

English: Old man (uncle).
Malay: Pakcik.
Dusun: Aman.

When they called us inan or aman, that doesn't mean we are old. Its actually their way of telling you, that they want you to called them Inan or Aman. So if an old lady said this:
English: Buy my banana Inan?
Malay:Belilah pisang saya Inan?
Dusun: Bo li po ti punti ku Inan?

Just answer this, if you want to buy them:
English: How much the price for this stacked Inan?
Malay: Berapa harga ni satu tumpuk?
Dusun: Piro horogo sotumpuk ti Inan?

Just answer this, if you don't want to buy them:
English: Not yet Inan
Malay: Belum lagi Inan.
Dusun: Amu po Inan.
or you can answer this:
English: I just look around Inan.
Malay: Saya tengok-tengok sahaja ni Inan.
Dusun: Mintong intong no ti Inan.

Give her your best smile and walk away as fast as you can. Or she will talk Dusun with you all day. Hahahahaha.... Many old seller in Kota Marudu don't have anything to do at home. They come here just to have a chat with friends. Normally, you will get more respect in Sabah if you (foreigner) can talk our language. That will also help you get a cheaper items.

Any suggestion for next week Dusun Language Saturday theme? Any of you want to add anything into today theme? Feel free to comment and share it with everyone.

2010 UPSR exam result

The Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) 2010 examination results had been announced yesterday by Education director-general Datuk Abdul Ghafar Mahmud. Candidates can obtained their result from their school starting yesterday, 11 November 2010. Datuk Abdul Ghafar Mahmud said this was the best achievement in four years based on the national average grade, the index used in measuring the achievement of school examination candidates nationwide.

A total of 494,493 candidates sat for UPSR at 8,192 examination centres nationwide. Some 486,321 candidates came from national schools and government aided schools while the remaining 8,172 were from private schools. A total of 48,327 or 10.02% of 482,334 UPSR candidates this year obtained all As. The percentage is higher than the 9.51% recorded last year. However, the number of candidates obtaining the minimum Grade C decreased by 1.37% from last year, he added. Thankfully, the percentage of candidates obtaining lower than the minimum grade (those obtaining Grade D or E or a combination of both), also decreases from 3.99% last year to 3.39% this year.

Abdul Ghafar said Grade A achievements of national and national-type primary schools in Mathematics showed an increase of 1.9% from last year while for Science, the increase was 1.7%. He said national schools scored a better percentage of those obtaining Grade A in Malay Language (Comprehension) this year, which was 4.5%, while in Writing Skills, the percentage showed a decline, by 8.9%, from last year. For national-type schools, there was a decrease in the percentage of both the Malay Language examinations, by 2.9 and 3.4 respectively.

He said the analysis for the Malay and English language results was done separately for the national and national-type schools because of the differences in the scope as well as the time allocated for the teaching of the subject. For the English language subject, he said, there was an increase in the average grade in the national and national-type schools at 2.74% (2.79 last year) and 2.69% (2.80 last year) respectively.

Abdul Ghafar said the Aptitude Test showed a drastic increase in pupil's preference for the social, cultural and sports fields compared to technical, vocational and academic. However, he said, the result was not an absolute barometer, saying the preference could change over time.

Cheap but Romantic Dating Places

How you can be romantic but at the same time you not waste money dating? Cheap but romantic dates is not that hard to learn if you know where to go and know what to talk about. Sometimes, you just need to watch the scenery to make it romantic. Holding hands with your love while walking together already a romantic thing to some. Here, I list some of the places that will not make a holes in your pocket and might bring the romantic feelings for your dates. Most of this tips are for guys since in Malaysia, guy is the one who should think about the dating places.

Cheap but romantic dating places:
  • Go for the waterfall. Just make sure you can find a place to sit and talk at the waterfall. Not every girl want to get wet on the dating day. It doesn't mean girl cannot be spontaneous but girl normally think about their appearance. They maybe don't bring any spare shirt or cloth. They maybe don't bring a cloth suitable for swimming at the waterfall. So guys, just told them early if you want to bring them swimming. Just make sure you bring your own food at the waterfall. Most of the foods sold at waterfall are expensive. Sit down while chatting and eating around waterfall place is not something that you can do everyday.
  • Head for a beach. You can try go to public beaches to wait for the sunset together. Maybe you can bring together some food and drinks. If that beach don't have any bench to sit, please make sure you bring any mat or something that can help both of you sit down. Make sure you also bring a camera to take a pictures when the sunset come. Pictures of both of you with the sunset will bring a lasting memory to both of you.
  • Art gallery or Museum. I know this sound like an old place to have a date but not everyone has been to the museum. You need to know something about history or arts to make sure you can amaze her. Sabah state museum only cost you about one ringgit per person.
  • Go for a walk at the public park. You can go for a walk together at a public park. Its healthy thing to do and you can sit down and relaxing on the benches when both of you are tired.
  • Window shopping. Just make sure both of you know that you will not buy anything, just a walk in a mall and looking without buying.
  • Library. If both of you like to read, library will be the best place to go for a date. Later on, you maybe can exchange thought after reading.
  • Cooking a meal together. I had a chance to cook a meal together with my fiance at my mother in law house. We wake up in the early  morning to buy all the necessary items together and cook our own recipes. He cooked an oxtail soup for me and I cooked his favourite food, rojak.
Romantic is a subjective feeling. Its maybe romantic for some but others might not feel a thing about it. Normally, it is not where do you choose the dating place that matter. What you two will do is the important thing in dating. If both of you enjoy doing that activity, it will be a great date for both of you. If you're in a budget, both of you must understand that you're in a budget.

Any of you want to add your own cheap but romantic dating places?

They're not Sabah oldest twins.

If you're looking at this post pictures, no.., they're not Sabah oldest twins. I know, I post about the worlds oldest twins last Friday but this has nothing to do with that. These are  pictures of my grandmother with her cousin who recently reunited again after have not meet for a very long time.My grandmother is the one wearing that green dress, her name is Duyah binti Singking. She was born on 4th October 1940 (in her identity card). Her best friends and also her cousin is the one who always come to my mother rice stall and always asked if she can meet my grandma, her name is Tayu binti Agui. My grandmother had a dementia and we don't normally bring her to mom stall. We afraid if we were busy, we forget about her and she maybe will be wandering around by herself.
One day, my sister Ann want to bring my little sister and brother to the park. She go back home in the afternoon to get Manja and Atan. While waiting for them to get ready, my grandmother asked Ann if she can come along. She want to meet Ann's husband and children; Ann is not married yet by the way. My grandmother always think Ann is the eldest and married with two children. Remember about the request of grandmother Tayu, Ann bring her along to mom rice stall and told grandmother Tayu son that my grandmother is at the rice stall.

10 minutes later, grandmother Tayu come with her granddaughter. Two of them shake hands and hug each other, while me and my mother busy taking pictures of them. Hehehehehe.... Grandmother Tayu still remember many thing compare with my grandmother. She told us how she and my grandmother are at the same year of birth, my grandma only a few months older. One thing in Sabah, the age on the identity card is normally not correct for old person because they normally late to register on the old days because of the transportation problem during that time.
Grandma Tayu told us that both of them are neighbours. When both of them got into quarrel, my grandma will always won them since she will put chili on her hands. Hahahahaha.... I don't know my grandma will be that wicked. Grandma Tayu also told us how my grandma is an expert in Magandak dance, traditional dances for Kimaragang tribe. No wonder I saw so many time my grandmother dancing alone, maybe she recalls the good old days. They talked for only about half an hour. I want to asked so many thing but don't have a chance. One of the question in my mind, why my grandmother always told us don't go to the wood because they're cannibal people in there. Is it true? Look like I need to keep that question to myself until I meet grandma Tayu again.

The World New Oldest Twins

Congratulations to world oldest twins, Ena Pugh and Lily Millward. The Sisters are claiming the title of the oldest twins in the world; at 100 years and nine months. Farmer's daughters Ena Pugh and Lily Millward were born on January 4 1910 before the outbreak of World War 1 when Queen Victoria's son Edward VII was king. The pair still live in their own houses, still meet up for weekly shopping sessions and chat on the telephone virtually every night. Guinness World Records gave them the honor after checking their birth and marriage certificates. They take the mantle from French twins Lucienne and Raymonde Wattebled, who were born in 1912.
Ena was born first on that chilly day in January 1910 with Lily a few minutes later in their family farm cottage in the tiny village of Garthbrengy, near Brecon in mid-Wales. Their parents Charles and Laura Thomas had ten children (including twin brothers) but Ena and Lily are now the only survivors. Ena married railwayman Ivor who died more than 20 years ago. She still lives in her country cottage where she raised their three children and now has ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Lily lives in a smallholding and has been a widow for nearly 20 years after the death of husband Evan, a former timber merchant. She had two children, five grand-children and nine-great grandchildren.

The sisters live just a dozen miles away from each other in the fresh air of the Welsh countryside; Ena at Erwood, near Builth Wells, and Lily still in her home village of Garthbrengy, near Brecon. The family heard on the radio that two sisters hit the headlines in France for being 98 last month. Raymonde and Lucienne Wattelade, who are officially recognised as the world's oldest twins by the Guiness World Records, live in Saint-Georges-de-Didonne, south-western France.

Batu Sapi Election Result Video

Batu Sapi election result video.

The polling for the Galas state by-election in Gua Musang, Kelantan and Batu Sapi parliamentary by-election in Sandakan, Sabah, was closed at 5pm today. In Batu Sapi, BN's Datin Linda Tsen Thau Lin was locked in a three-way fight against Datuk Yong Teck Lee of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and Ansari Abdullah of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR). Six polling centres -- four in Galas and two in Batu Sapi -- were closed much earlier to facilitate the transport of ballot boxes to the respective vote tallying centres. In Batu Sapi, two of 12 polling centres namely Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Pulau Timbang, which has 984 voters, and SK Segaliud, with 785 voters, were closed at 3pm and 4pm respectively.

*Gosh* I thought this will be an easy WW for all my regular readers but my guess is wrong. If you're a regular reader of my blog, you should remember that I never talk about my dad yet. Hehehehehe.... My dad just love to eat burnt kueh. In that picture is a glass (That is exactly my own glass, thats why I told everyone to ignore the love on the glass) of Nescafe and "shuttle-shuttle cake" (Kuih jemput-jemput). Hahahahaha.... Every time I need to fried kueh, I need to make sure I burnt it specially for him. He also look for a thick foamy Nescafe, more Ummph!

His name is Ubil bin Danding but almost everyone in Kota Marudu called him Raymond. His date of birth is on 16 September 1953. My father is a mix of Dusun Lotud and Chinese. He is from Kg. Sawah in Tuaran. According to my dad, his late mother got another girl siblings. Their family come from China and start their business in Tuaran. During Japanese occupation, my grandma is still a young girl. Her parents worried about their children safety and send them to village area to be taken care by the villager. They were given golds  to protect the children. Almost everyday, the children face will be wipe with mud so no one will suspect that they're Chinese. That is how my grandma and her 3 young brother survive. I don't know what happen to my grandma sister.

One thing I respect about my dad is when my mom told me that he really taking care of mom when she pregnant and have a baby. He will do all the house work like cleaning, cooking, washing clothes and even make sure my mom having a hot bath every time (we don't have hot shower or electricity at that time). Another thing is that my dad never easily mad at anyone but when he mad about something.., oh my god, really scary. We always remind our self that we will not make dad angry. If I had an emergency, like I need to go to Kota Kinabalu (2 hours drive from Kota Marudu) dad will always willing to help. Hehehehehe....

Thanks dad. I know this is not a father day or something but I just want to mention how important my dad in my life. I don't believe in wishing only one happy fathers day a year. I want to see my dad happy everyday.

Thank you to my best friends

"Hi! kakak"(Hi! Sisters)
"Mana ada kakak tu, lelaki" (They're men not sisters)
"Kakak-kakak saya tu, kawan baik saya" (They're my sisters, my best friends)
"Kenapa panggil dorang kakak?" (Why do you called them sisters?)
"Jadi nak panggil adik manis?" (Then, want to called them sweet girl?"

Hahahahaha.... That are just some dialogue that I encounter when talk about two of my best friends in office. I have two other best friends beside my lovely Kak Lina. They're Jessika and Hamidah. Oooops.... Their real name are Jasni and Abdul Hamid. Hahahaha.... Eventhough both of them are kinda soft (lembut), I like to be their friends. They're men with woman at hearts. They don't take advantage and never try to cheat me.
Most of the times, I tease them by calling their women name in front of everyone in canteen or office. Hahahahaha... but they never mad about it. But don't ever asked Jessika when she will be  getting married, she will not talk with you for a month (Jangan marah aaah Jas). Hamidah a little bit open, she don't mad if you tease her like that. Sometimes I tease Hamidah by asking her.

"Amid, kalau saya mengurat kau, apa kau rasa?"
(Amid, if I flirt with you, how do you feel?)

" Tiada kah soalan lain kau mau tanya ni, susah betul aku mau jawab soalan kau ni."
(You don't have other question to asked? That is a hard question.)

Hahahaha.... They don't like it when you say a girl want to flirt with them, like they feel offended about it when you saying something like that. But with Jessika, I don't dare to joke like that. I don't want to loose my good friends.

Two of them are also best friends but they like to compete with each other. Hamidah always complain about her dissatisfaction with me. But I always remember that both of them had been a good friends since they're little kids. I took the safe way by not to interfere their dispute, just listening to what they want to say about one of them. I don't give any comment that will make the quarrel become worst.Just try to comment with minimal comment. Hehehehe....
Picture: Jessika with her wide smile.

I have been their best friends for over two years now. They help me a lots since I work here. I don't care what others talk about them. For me, they're true friends. They help me when I am having problem, we laugh together when we meet. We do fight sometimes but that is normal in every friends relationship, right? After a day or two, we will become friends again. Gossiping around during our morning breakfast.

Thank you for being my best friends Jessika and Hamidah. I will not forget your kindness towards me as long as I live.
