Anyone of you from Kota Marudu? Do you have other choice of broadband beside Celcom and Streamyx? I wish Digi or Maxis 3G broadband will come to this town. We as a consumer at least have a choice to choose what is the best for us. I read some where in someone blog before, how Malaysia is among the slowest nation in terms of broadband speed. In some places like my working place, there is no service at all. I even need to put my hand phone near a window if I want to talk with someone.
My original subscription for Celcom 3G Broadband is for 384kbps and at a volume of 5GB. I don't know if anyone from other country have something similar, where the broadband service will be barred if your usage is over 5GB. When I check my bill yesterday, I found out Celcom change the plan to 512kbps and at a volume of 3GB. They called me before this telling that my broadband subscription has been upgrade. Its more like my subscription has been downgrade. Even if the speed is change to 512 kbps, my usage volume drop to only 3GB. they don't tell me that. Since this upgrade, its very troublesome for me to get a very decent connection.
In Kota Marudu we don't have any choice. If you want portability, Celcom is the only choice you get. Its more like a monopoly. I am the boss. You cannot mad at me if I change your subscription plan as long as the payment is still the same. I wish they are at least another broadband service provider coming to this town. Then, i will tell Celcom, "Mister! I am changing! You can play the monopoly alone now". Hahahaha.... Like that will gonna happen real soon. When I complaint to Celcom, they asked me to used GPRS instead. Yeah.., GPRS is faster then 3G in my town.
PS: Maybe Celcom knew that I am using a student subscription before this, thats why the downgrade. Psssst.., don't tell that to any of your Celcom friends. Hehehehe....
